“Classical Christmas” concert at Arts Center on December 22
The Ashtabula Arts Center will be presenting Classical Christmas: an Evening of Art Songs and Christmas Classics on Friday, December 22 at 7:30 p.m. This special holiday concert will feature pianist Elenora Pertz and mezzo-soprano Marie Engle performing music by Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Aaron Copland, and Henri Duparc, as well as some Christmas favorites. Elenora Pertz was raised in Ashtabula. She studied and performed at the Ashtabula Arts Center, and was a piano student of Mary Redmond. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance & European Studies from Vanderbilt University, and now studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin.
Marie Engle of Wauseon, OH is a Master of Music candidate at the Juilliard School, where she studies with Marlena Malas. She lived in Vienna, Austria and performed with the award-winning Arnold Schönberg Choir at the Lincoln Center, as well as in Barcelona, Austria, and Hong Kong. Marie has a Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern University.
