Hope in Artistry

Hope in Artistry

Runs: Nov 1 - Nov 29, 2021

In 2020, Ashtabula County lost 17 individuals to suicide. That puts us well over both the state and national suicide rates. Suicide is one of the leading causes of death across all demographic categories of Ashtabula County residents. We know that friends and loved ones who are left behind after a suicide loss are placed at a greatly elevated risk of dying by suicide themselves and are in need of awareness, intervention, and support. Hope in Artistry: Reducing Stigma and Raising Awareness for Suicide Prevention offers an artistic outlet for survivors and community artists to show support for survivors, raise awareness, and start conversations about suicide loss and prevention. This exhibit is presented by the Ashtabula County Suicide Prevention Coalition and the Ashtabula County LOSS Team, in collaboration with the Ashtabula Arts Center.

Public Reception: Thursday, November 18, 6-8 p.m.

This is a juried exhibit.
