Za Unitt was born in the Philippines and moved all around the US as an AF military dependent. Her mother was an accomplished musician and opera singer and her early years were spent in and around the theater. She specializes in early childhood education with an emphasis on musical entertainment and community building. She has worked with many bands and professionals in the music industry and has performed with Folly (George Clinton), Glen Siggers (Frankie Goes to Hollywood), and in her own projects as well as a solo artist: Za’s Pawnshop Special, Za Unitt and the Angry Men, Za and Glen, and currently with Tickles and Pokes. She taught guitar and song writing for the Girls Rhythm n Rock Camp in Columbus, OH for 5 years and before that she taught in LIGHT school, JUMP school, and for local churches. With over 33 years of experience, she has also taught stage presence and performance along with songwriting, arrangement, and musical composition.
