Artist’s Reception: Saturday, January 7, 1-3 p.m.
Eva Volf is an internationally-collected artist based in Aurora, Ohio. She is best known for her atmospheric seascapes. Fresh, luminous fine details, flickering light, cast shadows, and stunning aerial perspectives make her realistic seascapes extraordinary.
From early childhood Eva demonstrated a clear passion for art, the worlds’ oceans, and world travel. Having earned a PhD in linguistics, Eva realized that the language of visual art allowed her to express her individuality more fully. Her creative talents have been influenced by the realistic seascapes of Aivazovsky, Turner, Pickering, and Robinson. While traveling the world she studied fine art at private painting studios and attended workshops of famous artists. Today she is excited about taking her art to new levels, while maintaining her own distinct style.
Eva`s ocean paintings invite the viewer to experience multiple moods of the human experience. The ever-changing variety and character of ocean waves are a great metaphor for life itself. Her artwork captures seascape images that arouse the full spectrum of emotions, especially a feeling of awe.
Her large atmospheric seascapes are painted in her art studio which is located in her home in Aurora, Ohio. Some great resources that Eva uses include her en Plein Air studies of the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean, the Mediterranean Sea, and Lake Erie. Eva loves to take her wooden French easel with her during travels. She can often be seen sketching scenes while enjoying the sandy beaches and ocean surf. Her travel memories and sketches give her the rich inspiration she needs to produce timeless art in her studio.
Since 2006, Eva Volf has sold and donated more than 400 original works of art. She is an exhibiting member of the Hudson Society of Artists (Hudson, Ohio), Valley Arts Center (Chagrin Falls, Ohio), and Oil Painters of America. Eva`s work has been featured in Artists at Work; a Cable 9 TV Show, starring Vincenza Harrity and Fox News, Cleveland Ohio. Volf’s paintings have been in various exhibitions including 5 one-woman shows, won awards, and are in numerous private collections and galleries in the USA, Canada, Australia, Europe, and Asia.
