Nutcracker Production Experience
for ages 7-adult (possible roles for both acts)
Auditions: Saturday, Oct. 12, 11 a.m.-noon
(ballet training welcome but not required)
Party Scene rehearsal begins Nov. 2
Battle Scene rehearsal begins Nov. 2
Act II rehearsal begins Nov. 3

Special School Performances on Dec. 11 at 10:30 a.m. & noon
Fee: $120 – includes costume fee
Dancers, actors, and first-timers all welcome!
Everyone who auditions will receive a role. Attendance at all rehearsals and at all performances is mandatory. Auditions are first come, first served, and are held to let participants experience the entire production process, as well as to give the dance director an idea of a participant’s level of ability.

Fortnite Dance Party
for ages 7 & up
with Ryan Rosinski

All experience levels welcome
$50 per student
Ryan Rosinski will be hosting the first ever AAC Fortnite Dance Party! Learn some of the most famous Fortnite dance moves, play Fortnite-themed games, and have a blast. Participants will make a Fortnite craft to bring home as a souvenir and learn a full choreographed dance.

Hip Hop Pizza Party
for ages 7 & up
with Ryan Rosinski
Nov. 16, 1-4 p.m.
All experience levels welcome
$50 per student
Come and join us for a day of fun, food, and dance! All skill levels are welcome. Dancers will learn Hip Hop choreography, play games, and enjoy pizza.

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT)

This is an innovative program for students to understand the depth of training muscle memory in achieving their personal best in classical ballet. Each exercise has been developed with care and guidance with a team of physiotherapists. Students will use fitness and fusion balls as tools to find posture and weight placement, developing correct movement patterns by activating the correct muscles. Activation of these intrinsic muscles assists to prepare the feet, calves, and hamstrings for a safe and healthy transition onto pointe. Clover Robinson is a certified PBT instructor.

Ballet I
for ages 7 & up

Formal training in Classical Ballet begins at this level. We’ll focus on learning basic vocabulary, alignment, weight transfer, musicality, and coordination, while dancing in a fun and nurturing environment. Junior Division Dancers are invited to join BTA and participate in the Nutcracker Season and/or the Spring Dance Concert. Parent/Teacher conferences are held the last week of classes to give parents the opportunity to discuss their child’s progress.

Ballet III & IV

Dancers will study sustained barre and center work, along with adagio, pirouettes, and allegro combinations, and will be expected to work with greater emphasis on discipline, exactness and precision in skills. Senior Division Dancers are invited to join BTA to participate in the Nutcracker Season.

Ballet II students take two classes per week and focus on developing technical abilities as well as artistic expression, developing self-confidence, coordination, balance, and musicality, while learning the discipline of the art form. Junior Division Dancers are invited to join BTA to participate in the Nutcracker Season.

Grown Up & Me Dance

Little dancers along with their adult dancing partners will enjoy fun and games through movement and music. They’ll have so much fun that they won’t even realize that they are learning gross motor skills, listening skills, musicality, social skills, and learning how to follow teacher directions!

Pre-Ballet
for ages 5-7

4:30-5:15 p.m.

Dancers at this level will learn posture, flexibility, and coordination using music and expression, developing a strong foundation of physical and mental understanding necessary for Classical Ballet training. Fun and beautiful basic ballet concepts are introduced. Dancers will learn vocabulary and build a foundation in ballet technique prior to entering into our leveled classes. There will be a mini performance on the last day of class for family & friends.

Teen & Adult Ballet for Beginners

For the student who always wanted to take ballet, but never did. We’ll cover the basics of ballet: learning dance vocabulary, proper body alignment, and coordination. Dance for fitness & fun — it’s never too late to start!

This class provides an opportunity to release muscle tension and improve flexibility while strengthening core and stabilization muscles essential for enhancing a dancer’s technical development.

Improv/Choreography

Students will explore movement and creativity in new, exciting ways through guided prompts, and will develop timing, spacial awareness, and artistry. This is a contemporary-based class, but will incorporate movement from multiple genres of dance, encouraging original and authentic exploration. Try new exercises in imagery, tempo, group, and solo work in a fun and supportive environment.
