Hip Hop Master Class
for ages 7-adult

All experience levels welcome! Don’t worry if you’ve never danced before —newbies are welcome! This is a fun, high- energy class open to anyone who wants to get on their feet to some great music and have fun. Professional Hip Hop dancer Ryan Rosinski was a finalist on So You Think You Can Dance, and now teaches adults and children throughout Ohio. His dance instruction was recognized by Cleveland Magazine’s Best of the East awards in 2017 & 2018. He has given live performances at Playhouse Square, Goodyear Theater, and The Agora Theater, among others.

Dance Conditioning

Open to Ballet II & up
Full-body strength & cross training for improved connection with proper muscles for dancing, while reducing the risk of injury. (Ballet II students taking Dance Conditioning are invited to take barre of the 6 p.m. ballet class for free.)

Ballet I
for ages 7 & up

5-6 p.m.
Registration ongoing—new students are welcome
Formal training in Classical Ballet begins at this level. We’ll focus on learning basic vocabulary, alignment, weight transfer, musicality, and coordination, while dancing in a fun and nurturing environment. Junior Division Dancers are invited to join BTA and participate in the Nutcracker Season and/or the Spring Dance Concert. Parent/Teacher conferences are held the last week of classes to give parents the opportunity to discuss their child’s progress.

Ballet III & IV

6-7:30 p.m.

Dancers will study sustained barre and center work, along with adagio, pirouettes, and allegro combinations, and will be expected to work with greater emphasis on discipline, exactness and precision in skills. Senior Division Dancers are invited to join BTA to participate in the Spring Dance Concert.

Ballet II

Ballet II students take two classes per week and focus on developing technical abilities as well as artistic expression, developing self-confidence, coordination, balance, and musicality, while learning the discipline of the art form. Junior Division Dancers are invited to participate in the Spring Children’s Recital.

Beginning Pointe

Students will be introduced to basic pointe work, developing strength and alignment.

Grown Up & Me Dance

Little dancers along with their adult dancing partners will enjoy fun and games through movement and music. They’ll have so much fun that they won’t even realize that they are learning gross motor skills, listening skills, musicality, social skills, and learning how to follow teacher directions!

Pre-Ballet
for ages 5-7

4:30-5:15 p.m.
8 weeks beginning Mar. 11
$56 class fee (or $50 for donors)
$8 tutu/sash fee (student’s to keep)
Dancers at this level will learn posture, flexibility, and coordination using music and expression, developing a strong foundation of physical and mental understanding necessary for Classical Ballet training. Fun and beautiful basic ballet concepts are introduced. Dancers will learn vocabulary and build a foundation in ballet technique prior to entering into our leveled classes. There will be a mini performance on the last day of class for family & friends.

Teen & Adult Ballet for Beginners

For the student who always wanted to take ballet, but never did. We’ll cover the basics of ballet: learning dance vocabulary, proper body alignment, and coordination. Dance for fitness & fun — it’s never too late to start!

This class provides an opportunity to release muscle tension and improve flexibility while strengthening core and stabilization muscles essential for enhancing a dancer’s technical development.

Improv/Choreography

Students will explore movement and creativity in new, exciting ways through guided prompts, and will develop timing, spacial awareness, and artistry. This is a contemporary-based class, but will incorporate movement from multiple genres of dance, encouraging original and authentic exploration. Try new exercises in imagery, tempo, group, and solo work in a fun and supportive environment.
