Fiction Writing for Young Adults
for grades 9-12

When searching for your voice as a creative writer, who better to learn from than the best? We’ll examine great stories from different eras to help us grow our own skills as authors. Learn about sources of inspiration, methods of composition, and conquer the editing process with Marisha Sullivan (Teen Librarian at the ACDL). Notebooks will be provided.

Fiction Writing: the Sequel

Do you love writing stories, creating characters, and building worlds? Marisha Sullivan (Teen Librarian at the ACDL) is back with strategies for generating ideas, building intention, creating strong, believable characters and cohesive plot, and slaying that dreadful monster, writer’s block. Just bring your story ideas —notebooks will be provided. (Don’t worry if you didn’t take the first class – new students are welcome!)
