Mixed Media Afterschool Art Club

Students will explore a variety of media in art-making and learn the fundamentals skills involved in using different materials, including oil and chalk pastels, painting, watercolor, colored pencil, and more.

Drawing Foundations
for grades 1 & up

Learn the foundational pencil and charcoal skills necessary for all art. We’ll begin with basic shapes and forms, then move on to more complex creations.

Painting 101
for grades 1 & up

There’s magic in color! Learn the basics of color mixing, shades, and tints in this beginner painting class.

Claytivity
for grades K-6

Students will work on a series of projects that incorporate the basics of hand building in clay, using their own creative ideas. Projects will be bisque-fired and glazed to create permanent works of art.

Little ones have fun while developing the fine & gross motor skills essential for starting school. All students must be accompanied to all classes by a parent/guardian. Dress for a mess!

Illustrator Art
for grades 1-6

Learn the art of illustrators. We’ll study the styles of Dr. Seuss, Eric Carle, Snowmen at Night, and more!

Do you have a child who loves to draw? Encourage those talents in this special skill-building class that will focus on essential drawing techniques such as composition, proportion, perspective, and value. This class is an outstanding opportunity for serious student artists to focus exclusively on drawing materials and techniques, and to develop their observational skills.

Embroidery for Kids

As a start to a lifelong love of music, children will sing songs, play musical games, and more as we work to develop listening, social, and pre-reading skills.

Preschool Art Expression with Nancy Mitchell

Children will explore the tools and materials used in making art, learning to make connections between their projects and stories, ideas, and the seasons. We’ll create with paint, paper, scissors, glue, and lots of other fun materials, learning about the proper care and use of materials. Dress for a mess!

Preschool Drama with Kimberly Godfrey

This class focuses on using movement and imagination, and working with others. We will create and tell stories as we explore the world of acting.

Homeschool Art: Mixed Media & Painting

These lessons will teach basic painting concepts such as color theory using paint and mixed media. Students will learn new techniques, learn about artists throughout history and from around the world, and experiment with a variety of mediums such as oil and chalk pastels, painting, watercolor, colored pencil, and more, and will develop an expanded visual vocabulary, all while interacting with their fellow home-schooled peers.
