Claytivity
for grades K-3

Students will work on a series of projects that incorporate the basic methods of hand-building in clay, using their own creative ideas. Projects will be bisque-fired and glazed to create permanent works of art.

Painting the Masters
for grades 1-6

5-6 p.m.
8 weeks beginning Sept. 18

We will spend our time exploring famous paintings, the artists, and recreating some of the most famous pieces from Picasso to Monet.

WEDNESDAY

The Art of Manga
for ages 10 & up
with Ralph Bacon
6-7 p.m.
8 weeks beginning Sept. 19
$45 class fee (or $41 for donors)
We will cover some history of the art form, subject matter, and techniques. Learn how to rough out a character, refine, and create finished art. We’ll start with pencils and add markers as we progress. Students are welcome to bring their own supplies.

Embroidery for Kids
for ages 7-14
with Pamela Amy
4:30-5:30 p.m.
8 weeks beginning September 19
$60 class fee (or $54 for donors)
$8 materials fee
We’ll perfect our embroidery stitches and add cross stitches and satin stitches. First-time students welcome — come join the fun!

grades 4-6: 4-5 p.m.
grades K-3: 5-6 p.m.
Get creative in the afternoon! This class allows students to explore a variety of different media in art-making and will teach the fundamentals of using different materials to develop art projects.

FRIDAY

Home School Art
with Nancy Mitchell
8 weeks beginning Sept. 21

grades 4-6: 10-11 a.m.
grades K-3: 11-11:40 a.m.
These lessons are designed to teach basic art concepts such as color theory, drawing, painting, and mixed media. Students will be exposed to examples from art history and will develop an expanded visual vocabulary. They will learn about techniques and materials used in a traditional classroom setting, and will have the opportunity to interact with their home-schooled peers. New students always welcome!
