Irons From the Fire: Art by Western Reserve Blacksmith Association

Artists’ Reception: Friday, August 17, 6-8 p.m.

The Western Reserve Artist Blacksmith Association was founded by a small group of local blacksmiths as a means to share information, support each other’s work, and rekindle an interest in blacksmithing among the general public. Since its beginning, WRABA has grown in membership and diversity of activities. Today, WRABA is made up of a diverse group of blacksmithing enthusiasts young and old, men and women, expert and novice alike. All are dedicated to keeping the art and craft of blacksmithing alive and well in northeast Ohio. Club meetings are held monthly at a volunteer member’s shop and feature demonstrations and group projects as well as fundraising activities. Guests are always welcome. In addition, we operate and maintain the blacksmith shop at the Century Village in Burton, Ohio in conjunction with the Geauga County Historical Society. Club members contribute by giving blacksmithing demonstrations at many of the Century Village sponsored festivals. Stop by and see us; we’re always willing to chat
