“Classical Christmas” concert at Arts Center on December 22

The Ashtabula Arts Center will be presenting Classical Christmas: an Evening of Art Songs and Christmas Classics on Friday, December 22 at 7:30 p.m. This special holiday concert will feature pianist Elenora Pertz and mezzo-soprano Marie Engle performing music by Franz Schubert, Robert Schumann, Aaron Copland, and Henri Duparc, as well as some Christmas favorites. Advance Sale Tickets are $15 each, and seating is general admission. For tickets at the door, add $2. Elenora Pertz was raised in Ashtabula. She studied and performed at the Ashtabula Arts Center, and was a piano student of Mary Redmond. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance & European Studies from Vanderbilt University, and now studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin.

Marie Engle of Wauseon, OH is a Master of Music candidate at the Juilliard School, where she studies with Marlena Malas. She lived in Vienna, Austria and performed with the award-winning Arnold Schönberg Choir at the Lincoln Center, as well as in Barcelona, Austria, and Hong Kong. Marie has a Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern University.
